My boy

My daring 5 year old is so cute, he came home from preschool and told me how he had to line his candy up in perfect rows. I had him show me and as I watched him a grandmother with OCD came to mind, hmm I wonder who he is like (it's not me!!!)

Gingerbread house

Every year we make gingerbread houses this year Jackson took over making mine. He did a great job it was cute to see him line up the candy all around the house and on the roof.

More of Christmas

Every year we take a picture in front of the Christmas tree, here's this years (it looks a whole lot like lasts years and the year before and the year before and the year before...you get the picture).

Take notice

So in about every picture of Halle up until now she has had a pacifier in every single picture. As of January 1 (a new year, a new Halle) we gave up the wicked things. I thought this would be a terrible thing to do since a pacifier is like her form of nicotine and believe me she was on the hard stuff. But it went a lot better than I thought it would. For a few weeks before we got rid of them we talked about how pacifiers are for babies, then later we put all her pacifiers in a bag and went to a neighbors house and gave them to their baby. Then every time she asked for one we would say we gave them all to the baby. She did look at the baby like she wanted to poke his eyes out when we went to leave. But it has now been a month and I would say we are all a lot happier.

What a sleeping bag can do

So with all the toys everyone got on Christmas this is what we ended up doing all afternoon on Christmas. This was Jackson's idea, he had been watching Home Alone and I think it gave him too many good ideas.

A few of Christmas...

I thought that I would add a few of Christmas before I moved on. We had a wonderful holiday season filled with family and friends. Santa and the grandparents totally spoiled my children as well as me this year. I usually don't go all out, but I got so excited this year. I love having older kids that are totally excited and get what Christmas is (its all about the presents, right?) Jackson was totally into Lego's this year and was so excited to get some new Lego's to play with. First thing Halle saw was a candy cane filled with M&M's and wouldn't open any presents she just sat and ate M&M's and would search out another stocking for more when she was done. We coaxed her into opening a few, but Jackson didn't mind he got to open a few extra presents this year!!

Thanks grandma and grandpa Norris

Even though Sherry and Lanny are thousands of miles away on a mission Sherry still found a way to spoil all her grandkids on Christmas. Thanks for the great (soundless) toys! We miss you but are so happy to have you setting a great example for our family. Can't wait to come and see you!

Chrismas Eve

Christmas Eve was spent at my parents house this year. We ate and then played the Wii, funny things is, Jay said he never would like to play video games and especially something like Guitar Hero, guess who liked it the most?

Can you tell by the end of the night my kids had had a little too much sugar?

Better late than never!

On Christmas Eve while we were waiting for Jay to come homefrom work we made reindeer food. Jackson and Halle had so much fun! I was just happy it snowed on Christmas Eve so I didn't have to go outside with a shovel at midnight to remove what we had left!

Jackson's new toy?

Jay tells everybody that he bought the 4 wheeler for Jackson, but it's kinda funny that Jackson is only 5 and can't drive. However, Jackson loves the new toy (Halle does too) they love helping push snow. Jackson didn't want to go in this last Saturday even though it was freezing outside, he said he would just lay in the sun on the 4 wheeler to get warm. Did you notice how he blended in with the 4 wheeler, our (his) favorite color is red (hence the color of the 4 wheeler and coat).
